Special medals and diplomas will be handed to walkers on Sunday after walking.

The walking event Vaasan Marssi has been confirmed as the Finnish representative in the International Walking Association (IML). Vaasan Marssi has been granted both IML- and IVV-status, which means that walkers can acquire a walking passport and start collecting stamps from different walking events (cf. www.imlwalking.org and www.ivv-web.org). A three day walk in Vaasan Marssi entitles you to a stamp in the IML-passports. You must walk at least 20 km each day during the event (10 km if you are 70 years or older or if you are walking with a child under 10 years old).

Vaasan Marssi map

Vaasan Marssi has its own unique medal that depicts the land uplift of the Ostrobothnian coast. To get the medal you will have to participate every day during the event. When you participate for the second, third, fourth etc. time you get a corresponding number to attach to the ribbon of the medal.

Every participant is also entitled to a diploma from Vaasan Marssi.
